It can arise due to a sharp increase in energy prices, due to problems with supply chains, as well as due to inflation.
Germans have been warned of several years of economic hardship. According to German Finance Minister Christian Lindner, they will be caused by energy problems and inflation. On Wednesday, June 22, reports Southgerman newspaper.
Lindner noted that in a few weeks and months a very alarming situation could arise in the country.
“It’s about three or four, maybe five years of deficit. And we have to find an answer to that,” Lindner said.
According to him, there is “the danger of a very serious economic crisis due to a sharp increase in energy prices, due to problems with supply chains, due to inflation.” Stopping this should be a top priority, Lindner says.
“Not only because of the economy, but also because many people are also worried about having a livelihood,” he said.
This Wednesday, the leaders of the parties of the government coalition are discussing possible steps against higher prices, especially for gas and energy.
As you know, for several days Russia supplies much less gas to Germany. Experts believe that winter supplies can stop completely.
Germany will introduce additional measures to save gas
