Germany offered 50 billion euros to Greece to leave the eurozone – 2024-08-25 23:01:09

/ world today news/ German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schäuble has offered his former Greek colleague, Janos Varoufakis, 50 billion euros to get Greece out of the Eurozone, writes the Euractiv website, citing its sources.

The German offer was approved by Varoufakis and was about to be implemented, added the media quoted by offnews.bg.

The source of the information described Schäuble as a “true European” who has nothing against Greece, but believes that our southern neighbor needed “heavy medicine for a good cause”.

According to him, Schäuble had in mind that the leftists of “Syriza” would consider this proposal as good and as part of their ideology. The German finance minister was ready to “put the money on the table”.

Before the referendum in our southern neighbor, Schäuble was quoted by the French publication Mediapart precisely with his question to Greece about how much they want to leave the eurozone.
