Germany: no quarantine with vaccine or test | News

The easing could make it easier for families to go on vacation this summer. Parents must be vaccinated to avoid the quarantine obligation, according to Bild, but this is not a requirement for children.

Health Minister Jens Spahn said the relaxed policy does not affect countries that are on risk lists due to the presence of dangerous virus variants, such as India, Brazil and South Africa. The Netherlands is not on that list, but is still seen by the German authorities as a country with a high corona risk.

According to Spahn, this is the first time that the cabinet has decided on national entry rules, writes the Rheinische Post. In the past, federal states had different rules. As a result, travelers did not have to deal with the same quarantine rules everywhere.

Vaccinated people can only escape the quarantine obligation if they have been vaccinated with a product that is approved in the EU. This concerns the corona vaccines from BioNTech / Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Janssen from Leiden, which is also known as the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

It is not the first time that Germany has relaxed the rules for vaccinated people. People who have been fully vaccinated against the corona virus have more freedom since last Sunday. For example, they do not have to show a negative corona test result to go to a hairdresser or certain shops.
