On Sunday, Germany reached a deal to receive liquefied natural gas from Qatar.
Europe’s largest economy is seeking to replace some of its current gas needs from Vladimir Putin’s Russia, according to a German Twitter post.
The news is a fact after the German Minister of Economy Robert Habek visited Qatar this weekend, BTA reported.
Qatar is open to more co-operation and investment in renewable energy projects, Habek said.
“Qatar is in the process of increasing gas production and we need more gas in the short term to replace Russian supplies. I discussed this with the emir and the energy minister of Qatar,” the German economy minister added.
