At the same time, the number of new cases of the disease has increased by more than 15,500 in the last 24 hours, resulting in an incidence rate of 201.1 on Monday.

The increase in incidence is observed throughout the country, but Saxony, Thuringia and Bavaria were most affected.

About 67% of Germany’s population – almost 56 million people – are fully vaccinated, but numbers vary from region to region.
