Germany: FC Dueren – Bayern, result and coverage

  • Matuszczyk entered the field in the 54th minute
  • Bayern played with a tight squad, without most of the stars
  • Among others, Robert Lewandowski did not appear

Originally, the Bavarian team was supposed to start the national cup on September 11. The inauguration, however, collided with the holiday schedule of Bayern players. The Munich team had very little time to start the next season after their Champions League victory. Due to this, the match of the 1/32 final of the German Cup was postponed.

Due to the participation of many players from the team from Munich in the training camps of the national teams, an experimental line-up was sent to the meeting with the fifth-league player Hansi Flick. Most of the stars were missing, including Robert Lewandowski.

In the team of formal hosts FC Dueren on the bench, Adam Matuszczyk, a former 21-time Polish representative, joined the match. A club from a city in North Rhine-Westphalia has requested that the match take place at the Allianz Arena in Munich.

FC Dueren players were the first to pose a threat under the goal after 30 seconds. The giant from Munich disregarded the first share of a lesser-known rival and almost paid a high price for it. Alexander Nuebel, who made his debut in the main squad, showed an effective intervention after Marek Brasnicia’s header shot.

After the first quarter of an hour it was still 0-0, and the team from the periphery of German football had nothing to be ashamed of in terms of the hegemonic hegemon. The first dangerous situation under the Dueren goal arose in the 18th minute, after the rally and the successful dribbling of Alphonso Davies, who played to Maxim Choupo-Moting, who shot from a spin directly at the goalkeeper.

The Cameroonian improved in the 24th minute. After a nice turn in the middle of Douglas Costa’s field and outflanking the action by Boun Sarr, he finished the game by sliding 1-0. This is the striker’s first goal in his debut for Die Roten.

FC Dueren could equalize, Becker had a chance from an acute angle, but despite the lack of pressure, the stage fright lost him and he missed a fatal shot. Moments later, the favorite raised to 2: 0, Thomas Mueller, one of the few basic Bayern players in the line-up for this match, turned the penalty into goal. The Plus could be credited again to Choupo-Moting, who won the “eleven”.

After the restart, Bayern dominated, with the Davies rallies causing the most confusion. The winger delivered the ball to his teammates on a shot at least three times right after the switch sides. In the 54th minute, Adam Matuszczyk, who in the past was an important member of the national team in the eyes of coach Franciszek Smuda, appeared on the field.

Choupo-Moting, who stood out that day on the pitch, was close to a third hit in the 63rd minute, after a technical undercut over the goalkeeper, the ball was headed off the goal line by a defender. Moments later, Jamal Musiala passed two rivals, but hit the post.

Choupo-Moting achieved his goal and entered the list of shooters once again. Dynamic behavior in front of the penalty area, two contacts with the ball and a shot in the left corner of the goal made the score change to 3: 0. The 31-year-old thus contributed to all of Bayern’s goals that night.
