Germany indicated that the large-scale movement of Russian troops near the border with Ukraine is of concern to both Germany and Ukraine itself.

German Defense Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer said the Russian Federation should explain the movement of troops near Ukraine’s borders if it has nothing to hide. On Saturday, April 10, she wrote about this in Twitter.

“If Russia has nothing to hide, then it could easily explain which troops, where and for what purpose they are moving,” wrote Kramp-Karrenbauer.

France also said earlier that it expects explanations from the Russian Federation due to the movement of its troops near the border with Ukraine. According to the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jean-Yves Le Drian, Paris considers it important for the Russian Federation to explain why the troops are moving on the border with Ukraine. This can be done, including through mechanisms in the OSCE, the minister stressed.

Earlier, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andriy Taran said that the real goal of building up the RF military presence on the border with Ukraine may be an increase in pressure on the country in order to force concessions in the negotiation process.

On the eve of the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation Dmitry Kozak said that Russia will be forced to defend “their citizens” in the Donbass in the event of an aggravation of the conflict.

Moreover, in the Kremlin pulling troops to the borders of Ukraine consider them an internal affair and assure that the Russian Federation is not a threat to Ukraine.
