Germany: corona test for all returnees from holiday | Inland

Until now, the requirement for a negative test only applied to air passengers and when returning from areas where you ran a high risk of infection, such as the Netherlands. The obligation to test lapses if you have been vaccinated or cured of a corona infection.

According to German media, there is still discussion within the government about the plan of health minister Jens Spahn. The Minister of Justice finds a general obligation to test disproportionate.

Germany previously put the Netherlands on the list of high-risk areas. Unvaccinated travelers must be quarantined in Germany after staying in a high-risk area. They are expected to go directly to their accommodation after arrival. There they have to isolate themselves for 10 days if they do not have a vaccination or recovery certificate. The quarantine period can also be ended after 5 days with a new corona test.

Travelers will also soon have to have a negative test result, vaccination or recovery certificate before crossing the border. They must also provide such data to the German authorities via a form on the Internet.
