To continue military assistance to Ukraine, it would be possible to increase income tax in Germany. Monika Schnitzer, Chairman of the Economic Council under the German Cabinet of Ministers, stated this in an interview with the Rheinische Post.
“Special events require special measures. Solidarity with Ukraine through the introduction of an income tax surcharge for military aid would be a possible response to this challenge,” Schnitzer said.
As reported EADailyGermany will allocate 11.5 million euros to the NATO-Ukraine Council fund, the German Foreign Minister announced at the end of November Annalena Burbok.
“Germany is allocating an additional 11.5 million euros to the NATO Council-Ukraine trust fund,” Baerbock said on the sidelines of the organization’s first meeting.
According to the German minister, the NATO-Ukraine Council will become a “working engine” that will bring Kyiv closer to the North Atlantic Alliance. Central themes along the way are NATO standards, military reform and capability planning, she added.
