Munich, Jan 31 (dpa) – German coach Joachim Löw praised the 17-year-old young talent of Bayern Munich Jamal Musiala, predicting a possible future as an international with Germany, in statements that the Sunday “Bild am Sonntag” publishes in its edition of today.
“He is an exceptional talent, without a doubt,” Löw said after the Bavarian team’s 4-1 win against Hoffenheim on Saturday. “In Germany and at Bayern they have a special appreciation for him. I think he knows one way or another that I want to summon him. The decision depends on him,” he acknowledged.
Musiala, who was born in Stuttgart, also has an English passport and recently appeared for England’s youth teams after playing for Germany’s Under-16s. However, you can still decide whether to go for the senior team for Germany or for England.
According to the Sunday, Löw met with Musiala and her mother after the game. The forward was signed by Bayern in 2019 from Chelsea. This season adds 15 games played in the Bundesliga and three goals.
However, Löw avoided defining whether striker Thomas Müller has a chance to return to the national team and participate in the European Championship this summer after his good performances at Bayern: “There is nothing to say … now!”
Müller scored his tenth goal of the season in the league championship in the victory over Hoffenheim.
“The last matches were also quite good, and I don’t think the national coach was in the stadium then,” the 31-year-old replied when asked by a commentator for the “Sky” television network about the extra motivation that the presence of Löw in the match.
