Germany Bans Hamas Activities and Dissolves Palestinian Prisoner Defense Network

The German government banned the activities of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas” and dissolved a network that defended Palestinian prisoners.

German Interior Minister Nancy Weiser announced a ban on the activities of the Hamas movement and the dissolution of the Samidoun Prisoner Defense Network, which supports the Palestinians.

Weser revealed in a statement on Thursday that German Chancellor Olaf Schulz made a decision 3 weeks ago regarding the activities of Hamas and Samidoun in the country.

The minister accused Hamas of “seeking to destroy the State of Israel,” and said that the movement’s propaganda in Germany appears particularly in “aggressive behavior during demonstrations and attacks on Jewish institutions and homes.”

She said: “As Minister of the Interior, I announce today that we have banned Hamas’ activities and dissolved the Samidoun network in Germany.”

Regarding the Samidoun Prisoner Defense Network, the minister said that it is an international network that “spreads anti-Israel and anti-Semitic propaganda” under the guise of a solidarity group with prisoners.

Since October 7, the Israeli army has been waging a “devastating war” on the Gaza Strip, during which it killed 9,061 martyrs, 3,760 children, and 2,326 women, and wounded 32,000 people. It also killed 134 Palestinians and arrested about 2,000 in the West Bank, according to official Palestinian sources.
