Germany. A Polish woman from Bad Salzuflen fights for children with Jugendamt

Ms Klaudia (22) lived a quiet life in Germany until 2018. Here she grew up, studied and worked, and finally here she met the fathers of her children. The woman devotedly raised a then-year-old daughter and a few-month-old son. In 2018, she asked German social officials for help in finding a flat. They not only refused to grant her a place to live, but took the children away and placed them in Muslim families. Since then, the woman has been struggling to get her children back. A verdict in this case was due on Friday. However, the court postponed the meeting. It is to be held in 5-6 weeks. The German court decided that it was necessary to hear Ms Klaudia’s 3-year-old daughter.

The Polish family is desperate

– The father of Larissa, born in 2017, is German. He relinquished his rights from the very beginning and showed no interest in his daughter. Some time later, Klaudia met a Moroccan with whom she has a son, Aaroni. In 2018, the four of us wanted to move out from our mother and live in their own apartment – says Ms Sonia, Klaudia’s sister. The 22-year-old came to the Jugendamt and asked for help in finding a flat. Instead of supporting her in times of need, social officials not only denied her housing, but found reasons to take her children away from her mother and place them in a Muslim family!

– They did it completely unfounded. They accused Klaudia of three issues. The first is that he sometimes gives children sweet lenses to drink instead of water. Second, when the clerk made an unannounced inspection, there was a bottle with a teat in the crib. The third is that instead of babysitting, she looks at the phone. It’s not true. I saw how he loves these little children and takes care of them. They are her whole world. Now that Aaroni’s father has passed away, she was left alone with it, I support her as much as I can with our mother – says the desperate aunt of the children, Mrs. Sonia.

Visits under supervision

Mrs. Klaudia was allowed to have only minimal contact with the children. She could visit them every two or three weeks. The visits took place in closed rooms, under the supervision of adoptive families. – Children hardly speak Polish, they know us on average. For 18 months they have been going through a drama in these foreign families with different cultures and religions – adds Sonia.

The fate of Mrs. Klaudia touched Wojciech Pomorski from the “Polish Association Against Discrimination of Children in Germany”. The man took care of the matter and supports the mother in regaining her children. In his opinion, the Jugendamt has created a fictional reality that he clings to. According to his knowledge, the officials placed the 2-year-old and the 3-year-old in two foreign families (not related to the children’s fathers). And the workers of the Jugendamt made foster families their Muslim friends.

– It is unreasonable to deprive these children of their mother, and it is scandalous to separate them and keep them in Turkish “foster families”. In disputable situations, if the children were to be temporarily separated from their mother, they should be placed in a family that is culturally and linguistically close to the family of origin – he says Pomeranian.
