Germán Vargas Lleras: video raises doubts about the presidential candidacy – Political Parties – Elections 2022

Political propaganda has caused a stir, because the video, with music by the renowned Yuri Buenaventura, revolves entirely around Vargas Lleras and his long political career.

So much so, that on social networks this Sunday night the discussion around the possibility that the head of Radical Change, rather than campaigning his congressmen, was actually launching an eventual aspiration to the Presidency of the Republic, was lit up. .

The video shows images of Luis Carlos Galán, in whose youth Vargas Lleras militated in the 1980s, and also recalls the attacks of which the former vice president was a victim. Then, it shows Vargas Lleras during his time at the Ministry of Housing.

Until now, and after his failed 2018 campaign, he has denied that he intends to repeat his aspiration. But that is a possibility that is being talked about in various circles and that is viable to the extent that the registration of candidates for the presidential elections has not yet been closed.

A few weeks ago, Vargas Lleras publicly scolded former minister David Luna, who aspires to the Senate for Radical Change, because the latter assured that he was sure that his political boss was going to run for a new campaign.

“David Luna, it is not true that I see you every day. Your statement is not true, that I am ready to launch myself, you know well what I think. Have the least respect for the decision I made,” Vargas wrote. Lleras on his Twitter account.

It should be noted that the deadline for the registration of candidates is next Friday, March 11.

After his role as vice-president-minister, Vargas ran to succeed Juan Manuel Santos four years ago and at first his passage to the second round was almost fixed.

However, in the voting in May of that year, he barely achieved 1.4 million votes and a discreet fourth place in the electoral results, after Iván Duque, Gustavo Petro and Sergio Fajardo.
