After the end of his show, the presenter became quieter professionally. And he also had to cope with a stroke of fate in his private life: his wife Gisela died in 2014, with whom he was in a relationship for 60 years. But when he was over 80, he found a new love again: his girlfriend, Ursula Gunkel, whom he had known from his youth. “We’ve known each other for ages, haven’t seen each other for a long time. Then we crossed paths at the bakery in Arnsberg. I consider this coincidence to be very lucky for me,” the star told “Bild”.
