The German tennis player Sabine Lisicki has become a mother for the first time. The 34-year-old announced this on Instagram.

“Our hearts are filled with love and happiness,” Lisicki said. The father of the child is unknown. The photo shows the baby’s head held by four hands. They are grateful to “welcome Bella into our world,” Lisicki said.

Lisicki, a 2013 Wimbledon finalist, had not competed in a tournament since December of the previous year. However, at the end of June she announced that she wanted to return to the professional tour after the birth of her child.
