German Teacher in Vienna Accused of Insulting Children from Syria, Turkey and Ukraine

A teacher at a school in Vienna is said to have massively insulted children from Syria, Turkey and Ukraine.

The association “Ukrainehilfe” raises serious allegations against a German remedial teacher at a new secondary school (NMS) on the outskirts of Vienna. The teacher is said to have insulted schoolchildren from Syria, Ukraine and Turkey with statements such as “You can’t do anything” or “You can also go back to Turkey”, as the Ö1 Morgenjournal reports.

Parents insulted as parasites

According to the association, the teacher is said to have insulted her students in a 20-minute rant and called them unwilling to learn. She also described the children’s parents as “parasites”. “Do you pay for school? I pay for everything and everyone else who has a job. Does mom or dad have a job? Probably not! You can’t do anything!” The teacher is quoted as saying.

Cornelius Granig, the president of the association “Ukrainehilfe” sharply criticizes the behavior of the teacher. “I find it unbelievable that something like this is possible at an Austrian school. Especially with a child or a father who was shot in the war and who is in the hospital,” said Granig in the Ö1 morning journal.

Director of Education Heinrich Himmer has already announced that “intensive” talks will be held with the pedagogue.
