Double Olympic champion Kristina Vogel (track bike), boxing trainer Hans-Ullrich “Ulli” Wegner and three-time biathlon Olympic champion Kati Wilhelm have been inducted into the “German Sports Hall of Fame”. The trio joins 130 sports personalities who have already been recognized for their success in competition or their commitment to sport and society.
The official induction ceremony will take place on November 16th in Dreieich near Frankfurt/Main as part of the “Golden Sports Pyramid” award ceremony for tennis legend Michael Stich. Stich is honored for his life’s work. The “Hall of Fame” initiated by the German Sport Aid Foundation is intended to help preserve the more than hundred-year history of German sport and its personalities in memory.
