German Ski Jumpers Shut Out of Garmisch Podium

Italian Skier brignone Triumphs ⁣in‌ Semmering Giant Slalom

Italian alpine skiing star Federica Brignone claimed her second giant slalom victory ⁢of the season in⁢ Semmering, Austria, on a thrilling day of competition. The 34-year-old, who also topped the ⁤first run, showcased her dominance, ​leaving‍ other contenders in her wake. Her only ⁢previous elimination this season came in Killington,USA.

Brignone’s performance‍ was nothing short of breathtaking. “It worked and was a lot more fun when you ‌know that the slope is realy⁢ nice. It’s a different kind ​of skiing,” commented Lena Dürr, a German competitor ​who finished 22nd. Dürr, whose strengths lie⁣ in slalom, looked ahead to ‍Sunday’s‌ competition. Unfortunatly, her teammate Emma Aicher, initially⁢ strong after the ​first run, ultimately failed ‍to finish.

Following closely behind Brignone were Sara Hector of ‍Sweden,finishing 0.57 seconds back, and Alice Robinson of‌ New Zealand, who trailed by nine-tenths of a second. The podium finishers provided a strong challenge, but ⁢Brignone’s skill and experience proved insurmountable.

The​ second run saw Brignone maintain her lead,‍ edging out Swiss overall World Cup winner Lara Gut-Behrami by a mere 0.15⁢ seconds. ‌sara Hector, the ​Swedish​ Olympic champion, held onto third place, 0.24 seconds behind Brignone. This‍ intense competition highlighted the high level of skill among ⁢the world’s top female skiers.
