Paris – Athletes are still fighting for medals at the 2024 Olympics in Paris until Sunday, with 35 decisions to be made on Friday. Team Germany once again has a good chance of winning medals in the kayak. The men of the golden kayak foursome will compete against each other. In rhythmic gymnastics, hopes are resting on a 17-year-old world champion – and the German handball players are fighting for a place in the final against Spain in the quarterfinals after the thriller against France.
17-year-old one of Germany’s great gold hopes at the 2024 Olympics
At 1:30 p.m., Max Rendschmidt, Tom Liebscher-Lucz, Max Lemke and Jacob Schopf will face off for gold in the two-person kayak. Rendschmidt and Liebscher-Lucz will be in one of the favorite boats over the 500 meters, Lemke and Schopf in the other. The biggest competitors are the Portuguese João Ribeiro and Messias Baptista.

In rhythmic gymnastics, hopes are resting on 17-year-old Darja Varfolomeev. And despite her young age, the athlete is one of Germany’s big gold hopes. In the all-around qualification, the Russian-born athlete had to cope with two small mistakes, but that does little to change the world champion’s role as favorite.
German women’s football team to play for bronze at the 2024 Olympics
The German women’s soccer team will have one last dance in the match for bronze. Their dream of gold was shattered in extra time against the USA, but the German women’s soccer team now want to go home with bronze. Their opponents are strong, however. In Lyon, coach Horst Hrubesch’s team will face world champions Spain (3pm, live on TV and stream).
