German Residents More Likely to be Victims of Crimes by Migrants: Report

Germans are more likely to be victims of criminal acts by migrants than the other way around, Die Welt newspaper reported, citing data from the German criminal police.

According to its information, in 2022, 47,923 German residents were victims of crimes in which migrants were suspected, which is 18% more than the previous year. At the same time, 12,061 migrants were victims of crimes committed by German suspects.

In the category of the most serious crimes, such as murder and manslaughter, in which at least one migrant was involved, the victims were 258 Germans. At the same time, 89 migrants were victims of crimes in which at least one German was involved.

Around 300,000 asylum seekers are expected in Germany this year, double the number of last year.
