According to local reports, the incident occurred on Friday afternoon at around 1:45 p.m. in the bay, which is about 20 kilometers from Palma de Mallorca. Eyewitnesses told the Guardia Civil that the German and an as yet unknown man got into a heated argument for unknown reasons. The situation escalated until it became a physical altercation. During the argument, the unknown man is said to have pushed the 32-year-old, causing him to fall from a cliff about seven meters high. Rescue workers found the victim lying on a rock with serious injuries. According to the “Mallorca Zeitung”, the victim suffered severe bruising and severe facial abrasions and was taken to a private clinic in Palma.

Playa del Mago, with its two beaches, is particularly popular with nudist tourists. The turquoise water and the picturesque bay attract numerous excursion boats. The “magician’s beach” became famous in the late 1960s when it served as the backdrop for the film adaptation of John Fowles’ novel “The Magus”. Anthony Quinn and Michael Caine were among the main actors in the film.
It is still unclear why the altercation occurred. The identity of the perpetrator has not yet been determined. However, according to the portal “Cronicabalear”, he is said to be a man who lives in Palma.
