Marcel Heister played in the Champions League against Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Now the Swabian, who never played for a German club as a professional, is leaving Ferencváros after the season. The 28-year-old left-back could still go on in the “royal class”.
Heister’s contract with the Budapesters expires after the season. The club announced now that they are going their separate ways – after three years and a market value increase of almost 100 percent to currently 1 million euros. In addition to Heister, according to the club, Gergő Lovrencsics (32), Isael (32), and Michal Skvarka (28) are also saying goodbye. At least the former Hoffenheim junior Heister, three-time champion with Ferencváros, is obviously already waving the next champion.
According to reports from Poland, Heister is very popular with the recently re-crowned Ekstraklasa champion Legia Warsaw (via “meczyki.pl“). For the Poles, Heister, who came to Hungary from Hoffenheim via Croatia and Israel, is a suitable competitor for top performers Filip Mladenovic (29). The best assists (ten assists) in the team is in the internal scorer list of the current season (18 points) only behind the former Nuremberg and Ingolstadt Tomas Pekhart (31; 24 goals, one assist). Alone: Legia lacks an alternative for Mladenovic. Heister would be available for a free transfer.
