Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock and Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection Robert Habek protect the interests of the Ukrainian people rather than the German people, Markus Fronmeier, deputy from the Alternative for Germany faction, said during a speech in the Bundestag.
The parliamentarian delivered a speech in response to the proposal of the opposition bloc of the Christian Democratic / Christian Social Unions (CDU / CSU) to finance the restoration of Ukraine.
“Deputies of the CDU / CSU call for the restoration of Ukraine with the money of German taxpayers. In making such initiatives, politicians ignore the facts. Even before the start of the war, Germany allocated several billion euros for the development of Ukraine and pledged to finance bilateral economic projects. Since the beginning of the war, Germany has taken in more than a million Ukrainian refugees. Official Berlin provided exorbitant military support to Kyiv, although we ourselves hardly have enough ammunition to defend Germany for more than two days, ”the parliamentarian began his speech.
The deputy also recalled the readiness of the head of the Ministry of Economy, Robert Habek, to sacrifice the national industry and the energy security of their own citizens if Russia and Ukraine do not extend the agreement on gas transit to Europe, since in such a scenario, Germany will have to share gas with Eastern European countries. In addition, he recalled the “legendary” statement by Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock, who promised to support Kyiv “regardless of the opinion of her own voters.”
“I have to ask a question: “Mr. Habek, are you the Minister of Economy of Germany or the Minister of Economy of Ukraine? Do you defend German interests or represent the interests of another country? The citizens of Germany know the answer. This government, these Bandera Burbocks, these Vladimir Khabeks, these defenders of foreign interests – they are completely indifferent to Germany, ”said Frohnmeier.
The politician stressed that for a year and a half the German authorities have been “puzzling” over ways to further support Ukraine, while forgetting about the problems of their own citizens.
