German politician files criminal complaint against Bayern Munich defender Mazraoui for supporting Hamas: Bayern Munich controversy

Munich

Penggawa Bayern Munich, Noussair Mazraoui, brought to justice by German politicians. The reason is because Mazraoui’s upload was related to the conflict between Israel and Hamas.

Mazroui re-uploaded the Palestinian flag shortly after the Hamas military attack on Israel on October 7 2023. Not only that, he also posted a video of support for Palestine.

These posts earned Mazraoui a call from Bayern. The Reds itself supports Israel and says the conflict in the Middle East is due to acts of Hamas terrorism.

Noussair Mazraoui explains Bayern’s call-up. The Moroccan national team player emphasized that he was against war and wondered why he was associated with supporting terrorism.

“My position is that I will work for peace and justice in this world. That means I will always oppose all forms of terrorism, hatred and violence. That is something I will always support,” said Mazraoui.

“That’s why I don’t understand, why people think otherwise about me and why I am associated with hate groups,” he explained.

Bayern ultimately did not punish Mazraoui for his upload. Criticism actually came from German politician, Voker Beck, who filed a criminal complaint against Mazraoui.

Launch Bild, criminal charges were filed by Beck with Munich police and the German prosecutor’s office. Mazraoui was deemed to be ‘supporting evil’ for his support for Hamas.

“The statement ‘help our brothers who are oppressed in Palestine so they can achieve victory’ uttered after the October 7 massacre can only be understood as approval of Hamas’ actions,” said Beck on Wednesday (1/11/2023), as reported by Bild.

“Supporting crimes against humanity is a punishable offense. Even after Mazraoui’s verbal reasoning, it cannot go unpunished,” Beck added.

“The actions taken by FC Bayern were bad. I hope the court will make club leaders aware of the dimensions of this process,” he said.

Volker Beck was a member of the German parliament (Bundestag) from The Green Party from 1994-2017. Apart from being a politician, he also serves as President of the German-Israeli Association (Deutsch-Israelische Gesellschaft).
