During the autumn holidays, Polish and German young people are very active musically, because the German-Polish Music School Orchestra has once again invited people to rehearsals and concerts.
The youth orchestra studies musical works by Ludwig van Beethoven (Coriolan Overture), Stanisław Moniuszko (“Mazur”), the clarinet concerto by Karol Kurpiński with the excellent young soloist Franciszek Koziara and, at the end, the inspiring film music from “Star Wars” by John Williams an ambitious program.
The almost 60 young musicians are on Sunday, December October 15th, 4 p.m. in the Pomeranian State Museum Greifswald to hear – the free entry!
During the rehearsal phase and in the concert, the German-Polish Music School Orchestra is once again under the artistic direction of the conductor duo Jan Jakub Bokun from Wrocław and Wolfgang Spitz from Stralsund. Both have accompanied the orchestra for many years.
The German-Polish Music School Orchestra is sponsored by the Hanseatic City of Stralsund.
It is financed by the European Union with funds from the cooperation program small project fund INTERREG VI A Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania / Brandenburg / Poland, by the members of the municipal community POMERANIA e. V. and through the Hanseatic city.
The orchestra is a sponsorship award winner from the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
This year a special challenge awaits the project, because with the 25th anniversary the German and Polish partners of the orchestra will have a reason to celebrate, as the German-Polish Music School Orchestra is one of the most continuous and with almost 50 rehearsal and concert phases largest cross-border exchange projects in the Euroregion.
