The German Minister of Health wrote on Twitter on Wednesday, referring to the purchase of the 5 million doses of vaccine in Romania, that in our country “it was not used” and that the Germans will use these doses to rappel children between 12-17 years, which will protect against dropping out of school:
“Yesterday I bought 5 million doses of BionTech vaccine from Romania with EU approval. It was not used there. And for booster vaccination of 12-17 year olds, this is a significant improvement. This vaccination often protects against dropping out of school and is important, “Karl Lauterbach wrote on Twitter.

Germany has bought 5 million doses of Pfizer / BioNTech coronavirus vaccine from Romania to speed up the booster dose campaign, the Federal Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday evening.
Romania had received these doses through the European Union’s joint procurement scheme for vaccines, but they were to remain unused.
They will be available in Germany from the week of January 24th.
Germany estimates that a total of approximately 32 million doses of the vaccine – 12 million produced by Pfizer / BioNTech and 20 million by Moderna – will be available in the next three weeks, starting on 17 January.
This will make receiving a booster dose accessible to anyone who wants it in the next three weeks, the Berlin Ministry of Health said.
