German minister after knife attack: – We are doing everything to catch the person who committed the crime

German police are continuing to search for the man who stabbed three people to death in a square in a western German city on Friday night. Eight people were injured, five of them seriously, according to the German authorities.

According to the police, the man was aiming for the throats of the victims. They have not yet released any further information about the identity or motive.

Special police are looking for the person who committed the crime in Solingen, which celebrates 650 years this weekend. All events are now cancelled. Citizens were asked to contact the police if they see anything suspicious, and not to act alone.
