/ world today news/ German entrepreneur Stefan Dürr, head of Russia’s largest dairy production plant, shared his opinion on the state of Russian agriculture in an interview with German media.
According to him, the sanctions are beneficial for Russian agriculture, Die Zeit writes. “The ban on food imports from Western countries helps the Russian agricultural sector. Recently, the main buyer of the company “Metro” in Russia came to me. Before, it was extremely difficult for goods from Russian manufacturers to enter Metro. There was a so-called entry fee, and the goods themselves were often paid for only after two or three months. At the same time, “Metro” is actively looking for Russian suppliers. The company is even ready to finance the development of new products,” RIA Novosti quoted Durr as saying in the interview with the German publication.
He noted that despite the difficulties, many companies in Russia are moving to a new level. “What happened to Russian agriculture in one year would not have happened under other circumstances. Before, Russian farmers were mainly suppliers of raw materials. My enterprise “Econiva” currently not only sells raw milk, but also products such as yogurt, cottage cheese or butter. We are entering new areas,” notes Stefan Dür.
