Before reading the indictment against former US President Trump, the German Association of Journalists called on correspondents to be cautious. Observers expected thousands of violent Trump supporters who could vent their displeasure at the charges in tumult, the DJV said.
During his presidency, Trump has repeatedly defamed reporters as enemies of the people, warned the association’s chairman, Everywhere. The violence and brutality of his supporters during the storming of the Capitol in Washington more than two years ago did not spare journalists either.
