Stuttgart – The anticipation for the first home game of the Stuttgart Scorpions in the German Football League (GFL) this Saturday (5 p.m.) is particularly great. This is not because of the opponent Marburg Mercenaries, but because fans are allowed to go to the Gazi stadium at home. “We have the green light,” says Scorpions President Roland Pellegrino, “up to 500 spectators are allowed – that was a jolt through the club. We are all really happy. ”The Scorpions have to cope with additional organizational tasks, but the volunteers are ready. “Everyone is eager to help,” says Pellegrino. Until last Sunday, the leadership of the first division team assumed that only players, coaches and officials would be in the stadium against Marburg.
Up to 500 fans, that’s double the win for the Scorpions. On the one hand, the audience will create a good mood and motivate the team. On the other hand, the income is an extra income in the budget of the Scorpions, who initially calculated this season without ticket sales. “That makes it easier for us,” says Pellegrino. Tickets are sold exclusively over the Internet (stuttgart-scorpions.de), there is no box office at the stadium. All viewers must prove a daily negative test or a complete vaccination or prove a recovery up to a maximum of six months ago.
