Essen. A touch of Hollywood will blow around Essen from August 17th to 18th, 2024: The German Film & Comic Con will take place for the first time at Messe Essen. At the big fan meeting organized by We Love Conventions, everything revolves around entertainment, film and TV stars, comics, DVD/Blu-ray, merchandise and cosplay. In three halls covering around 20,000 square meters, visitors can experience their favorite actors up close in autograph sessions, photo campaigns and Q&A sessions. In addition, a number of retailers present their range of fan articles and accessories. In addition to the actors from well-known films and TV series such as The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Star Wars and The Big Bang Theory, the focus of the event is primarily on cosplayers and dubbing actors as well as indies and professionals -Artists.

The Essen trade fair is ideally accessible and offers a number of hotels and restaurants in the immediate vicinity. The Star Wars Celebration Europe, a globally acclaimed fan meeting, took place in Essen in 2013, transforming the Ruhr area city into a colorful parade of dressed-up fans of the science fiction saga for two days.
New blockbuster in the trade fair portfolio
Messe Essen is also very happy about the new public blockbuster in its portfolio: “The German Film & Comic Con enriches our trade fair program with another attractive topic and ensures additional international attention.
