German electric boat in carbon fiber promises 70 knots

It is German Mayla Yachts that is behind the news – the Mayla FortyFour, which is an electric boat built in light carbon fiber and which promises speeds over 70 knots.

Mayla FortyFour, as the name reveals, is a 44-foot electric boat, where the twin 800 kW electric motors deliver up to 2,150 horsepower, reveals German startup Mayla Yachts.

Electric boat or hybrid

The electric boat relies on a 500 kWh lithium-ion battery and for a hybrid version a 400 kWh battery and a diesel generator are combined instead.

The spacious electric boat has room for eight people, and for a family of four there is plenty of room to sleep. Otherwise, it is an open floor plan, where the design is inspired by the 1980s.

Plenty of room for parties

There is also plenty of room for partying, with the beach club area having a music system set up for long nights. There is also a small garage where toys such as a jet ski can be hidden away.
