The German support package is running according to Reuters for another four anti-aircraft systems of the Iris-T SLM type. Delivery of those four will not begin until the end of next year at the earliest. Ukraine received eight. German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius also promised 20,000 artillery shells.
“I am sure it will help you in the fight against Russian aggression,” Pistorius said. He said the additional military support underlines that Germany is a “reliable long-term partner” for Ukraine.

British expect new Russian attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure
With the anti-aircraft systems, Ukraine is arming itself against Russian missile attacks. The British Ministry of Defence stilt Tuesday that the Russian army has recently put a lot of effort into weakening Ukraine’s air defenses. This should enable the Russians to do a lot of damage to Ukrainian infrastructure, such as power stations, again this winter.

Earlier on Tuesday, port infrastructure in the Odesa region was hit by Russian missiles, according to Ukraine. Artillery attacks in the Donetsk and Kharkiv regions reportedly killed and wounded, Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said. A coal mine is also said to have been hit during the shelling. As a result, 39 miners would have been briefly trapped underground.

UN: 10,000 civilians killed by war in Ukraine

In the period from August to October, 86 percent of confirmed casualties occurred in areas under the control of the Ukrainian government.
