The “drone package” reportedly includes a ground control station with several drones, a launch catapult and military trucks.
It should be noted that the LUNA NG system is the first German-made strike drone. The reconnaissance UAV can carry up to eight armed multicopters. In flight, the drone has low acoustic, thermal and radar signatures.
“By reconnaissance, LUNA NG will help identify targets and deliver weapons to them,” Rheinmetall notes.
Transfer of weapons to Ukraine from Rheinmetall
Rheinmetall announced on July 25 that Ukraine will receive two advanced Skynex air defense systems, including air-blasting munitions, in the second half of 2023.
Also, the German defense concern purchased 50 Leopard 1 tanks from the Belgian company OIP Land Systems. Rheinmetall plans to repair them and send them to Ukraine.
