In an international comparison, Germany is more severely affected by cyber attacks than other countries. According to a recent report by the specialist insurer Hiscox, hackers caused damage averaging $20,792 (€18,712) in 2021 alone. This put German companies well above the international average of 17,000 dollars and took first place internationally.
