The mother of German citizen Shani Luk, who was captured by Hamas militants, said that she received information from the Israeli military about the death of her daughter.

Details: “Unfortunately, yesterday we received the news that my daughter is no longer alive,” Ricarda Luk said.
The prisoner’s sister Adi also confirmed Shani’s death in a note on Instagram.
“We are saddened to announce the death of my sister Shani… on October 7, 2023, during the Reim massacre,” she said.
Shani’s body has still not been found, said Ricarda Luk. However, they found a part of the skull bone from which a DNA sample was taken. The mother believes her daughter has been dead since October 7 – possibly shot in the head during the attack.
There was no official confirmation of the death of Shani Luk from the German Foreign Ministry.
Shani Luk, 22, was killed at a music festival in Israel’s Negev desert, her family said. Photos and videos circulated online showed the motionless body of a young woman in a pickup truck.
Shani Look’s family initially believed she was seriously injured but was alive and in hospital in the Gaza Strip. Since the attack, the family has campaigned for the release of all hostages.
Shani Luk had German and Israeli citizenship.
