Chancellor German Olaf Scholz forced to get off his plane which was parked at Ben-Gurion Airport, Tel Aviv, Israeland evacuated after the sirens warning of the threat of an air attack sounded shortly before flying to Egypt.

This incident occurred on Tuesday (17/10) night when the Hamas vs Israel war continued to heat up. Meanwhile, Scholz is in Israel to show German solidarity with Israel.

A video clip uploaded by the news agency Reuters shows German officials immediately lying down next to the German state plane as sirens sounded warning of a possible rocket attack.

Quoted Al Jazeera, Chancellor Scholz was seen being taken by authorities to a shelter at the airport.

Scholz was in Israel to convey Germany’s solidarity with Israel to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The incident occurred when he was about to fly to Egypt to meet President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

The incident at Ben-Gurion Airport came soon after reports of a deadly airstrike hitting Al-Ahli hospital in the Palestinian Gaza Strip killing more than 500 people.

The Palestinian Hamas group accused Israel of carrying out the attack. Meanwhile, the Israeli military denied bombarding Al-Ahli Hospital.

Israel blamed the attack on Al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza by a rocket belonging to the Palestinian Islamic Jihad militant group, an ally of Hamas, which misfired.

“Analysis shows that a barrage of rockets was fired by terrorists in Gaza, and passed near the Ahli hospital in Gaza at the time of the attack,” the Israeli military said in a statement issued two hours after the deadly attack.

“Intelligence information from various sources that we have indicates that Islamic Jihad is responsible for the failure of the rocket launch that ultimately hit a hospital in Gaza,” the Israeli military added.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu even said “it was the barbaric terrorists in Gaza who attacked hospitals in Gaza, not the IDF (Israel Defense Forces).”

Islamic Jihad has always claimed to be fighting alongside Hamas against Israel.
