German Chancellor Expresses Full Support for Ukrainian Peace Formula

The head of the German government noted during a speech at the international peace meeting of the Sant’Egidio community that the peace formula presented by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky clearly expresses this desire for a just peace, therefore Germany fully supports it.

“We all know that today no one in Europe strives for peace as much as the Ukrainians. Every day they defend their freedom, their homeland, their lives from the imperial, blinded by history, power fantasies of the ruler in the Kremlin,” Scholz said.

In this context, Scholz warned against possible “pseudo-solutions that only have ‘peace’ in their name,” since a world without freedom “means oppression, and a world without justice is called dictatorship.”

Scholz also emphasized that Germany, while supporting the desire for a just peace in Ukraine, is also helping the Defense Forces with weapons.

“This decision was not easy for us – and we do not make it easy for ourselves. Precisely because we know the effectiveness of the weapons supplied, we closely coordinate the work and always very carefully study what is needed in the current situation… We will continue to support Ukraine in its right to self-defense as long as necessary,” said the German Chancellor.

Ukrainian peace formula

Let us recall that last year President Vladimir Zelensky presented a 10-point peace formula. It describes steps to end Russia’s war against Ukraine.

Let us note that this formula has already been supported by the UK, USA, Canada, Japan, Germany, France, Italy, Portugal, Poland, Finland, and the Baltic countries. And also 63 countries at the ambassadorial level have already joined the discussion on the implementation of the Ukrainian peace formula.

It was also reported that they want to organize the next negotiations in this format at the level of heads of state.
