German border region eases coronavirus quarantine policy 1Limburg

The German region of Heinsberg on the Limburg border, between Roermond and Brunssum, moderates quarantine policy immediately.

Not everyone who has come into contact with a person infected with the coronavirus is, as usual, quarantined.

Get on
Only people who have fallen ill since then have to quarantine and have themselves tested if necessary. With a few exceptions, others can continue with their work and other daily activities. That was said by Stephan Pusch of Kreis Heinsberg on Saturday morning in a video message to the population.

Don’t do it
The reason is an infected employee at the Kreis itself. If everyone who had been in contact with her had to go home immediately and stay indoors for fourteen days, then the entire Kreis board and the crisis team would have been down all that time, and that is not done, Pusch said.

Exceptions
The exceptions he spoke of are people who, because of their profession, have many direct contacts with others, such as teachers and nursing staff. They also have to be free of symptoms after a contact in quarantine.

The emergency services are relieved by the relaxation of the quarantine policy. They can now focus on the people who really need help, says Pusch.

Contamination
In the meantime, the number of corona patients in North Rhine-Westphalia, bordering on Limburg, has risen to 39, the WDR reports. There were 35 on Friday night.
