Secretary General Gerinda Party Ahmad Muzani revealed the chairman of the Gerindra Party Prabowo Subianto will discuss with the President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) related to vice presidential assistant. Muzani assessed that the discussion was important because Jokowi is a figure whose legacy will be carried on.
“Yes, I think Pak Prabowo will have discussions with all figures. Again with a President, it is important because this is a person whose legacy will be carried on,” said Muzani at the PAN DPP office, South Jakarta, Monday (5/6/2023) .
Apart from that, Muzani said Prabowo also had many discussions with various figures. He said Prabowo was open to discussions with anyone.
“I think that (discussion) will definitely be carried out. Many Prabowo figures discussed, clerics, retired generals and political seniors,” he said.
“Prabowo is open to discussions, especially with President Joko Widodo,” he continued.
Furthermore, Muzani said that Prabowo’s closeness to Jokowi also had an impact on Prabowo’s electability. This is because the closeness of Prabowo and Jokowi makes many parties feel happy.
“Pak Prabowo’s closeness to Pak Jokowi is something new, because in 2014 Pak Prabowo faced off, 2019 faced each other. Then now the two are close together, working together,” he said.
“So then there is the impression of endorsement of support, that is what then causes the people to actually like it, because Indonesians don’t like it when something seems to be face to face,” added Muzani.
Even so, Muzani said that closeness was not the only factor in Prabowo’s electability. “That’s not the only factor,” he said.
