Gerindra politician M Taufik questioned the capacity of PSI Chairman Giring Ganesha regarding his remarks about Indonesia’s bleak future if it was led by a figure who had been sacked by President Jokowi.
In the statement, Giring did not mention the specific name of the figure in question. However, Gerindra considers the remarks only to get a political stage.

Taufik admitted that he did not know who the character Giring was referring to. However, Taufik again questioned Giring’s capacity.
“If the Betawi people say, ‘Who are you? What’s your rank?‘. But that’s okay. He really has to look for the stage, that’s why he has a lot of fun ticking, he has to make a lot of content,” said Taufik.
Previously, Giring Ganesha said that Indonesia’s future was bleak if it was led by a liar and intolerant figure. The statement was made in front of President Jokowi during the peak moment of PSI’s 7th Birthday.
Giring initially admitted that he was ready to become the government’s opposition in the coming period if the president elected in the 2024 presidential election was an intolerant figure.
“If a bad scenario happens in the future and a candidate with a track record of politicizing religion wins the presidential election, Mr. PSI is ready to become the opposition, as we proved in Jakarta today,” said Giring in his remarks, Wednesday (22/12).
Giring said that the progress that had been achieved by Jokowi during these two periods would be destroyed if his successor was someone who had a track record of using SARA sentiments to win the Pilkada process. He even stated that Indonesia would be bleak in the coming period if it was led by a liar.
However, Giring did not specifically mention who the figure in question was. He only said that the figure was someone who had been fired by Jokowi in the government.
“Indonesia will be gloomy if the chosen one is a liar and has also been fired by Pak Jokowi because of his incompetence,” he said.
Giring also said something similar in a video caption some time ago. However, at that time, Giring directly mentioned the name of the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan.
In the video, Giring accused Anies of being a liar. He said that Anies often pretended to care about the community in the midst of community difficulties during the corona virus (Covid-19) pandemic.
Giring noted that Anies often appears to care about the suffering of the people during a pandemic in the face of a pandemic. However, he invited the public to test the truth of Anies’ caring image by looking at the use of public money through the DKI Regional Budget during the pandemic.
Giring accused Anies of using the DKI Regional Budget for the benefit of his personal ego. One of them is by using IDR 1 trillion to hold a Formula E car racing event.
The down payment for the Formula E event, he said, was paid by Anies when the government officially announced the country was in a state of pandemic emergency. In fact, the car racing event is useless for people who are being hit by a pandemic disaster.
Giring also mentioned that Anies had claimed that he did not have the funds to deal with Covid-19 in Jakarta. In fact, he had asked the central government to take over the handling of Covid-19 in Jakarta.
In a crisis situation, Giring said, a leader must work hard to save the people. For him, the principle of putting the interests of the people first is a more important step for leaders.
“Governor Anies is not an example of a person who can overcome a crisis,” said Giring.
“Don’t let Indonesia fall into the hands of liars, don’t let Indonesia fall into the hands of Anies Baswedan,” added Giring.
