The parties that hold seats in DKI DPRD open a voice about who the acting Governor of DKI Jakarta is when Anies Baswedan has finished his term of service before the gubernatorial election is held again in 2024.
Advisor to the Gerindra Party faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Mohammad Taufik, admitted that he agreed if the Head of the Presidential Secretariat of the Republic of Indonesia, Heru Budi Hartono served as Acting Governor of DKI.
According to him, Heru is the right person to fill the position.
According to Taufik, Heru has experience working in the DKI Provincial Government. Taufik stated that with his experience, Heru was judged to be able to map out problems in the capital city.
“I agree, he understands. He’s in the DKI Regional Government from below, I understand him very well. From below, being the mayor, I fully understand Pak Heru’s actions,” Taufik told reporters, Friday (7/1).
Heru’s career has been poor across the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. In 1993, he became the Special Staff for the Mayor of North Jakarta.
Then, he was noted to have served as Head of the DKI Jakarta KDH and KLN Bureau in 2013. A year later, he was assigned to be the Mayor of North Jakarta.
Furthermore, in 2015, Heru was appointed as Head of the DKI Jakarta Regional Assets Financial Management Agency (BPKAD) during the governorship of Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok.
Although he agrees with Heru’s figure, the deputy chairman of the DPRD said that all decisions are in the hands of President Joko Widodo. According to him, the DKI Jakarta DPRD cannot dictate Jokowi’s decision.
“We can’t dictate, it’s the President’s decision. But even if Heru’s name circulates, I think Heru is someone who understands Jakarta,” said Taufik.
In line with Taufik, the chairman of the Golkar faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Basri Baco, also admitted that he agreed if Jokowi appointed Heru as a replacement for the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, whose position will be completed on October 16, 2022.
According to him, judging from the requirements and character of the leader who is worthy to fill the position, Heru is the figure.
“When it comes to Pak Heru, one thing is certain, the ASN has entered (qualifies). Second, he has served as an official within the DKI Provincial Government,” said Basri.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman of the PKS faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Ismail, said that there were two possibilities for Anies’ replacement. First, the person appointed by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the second is the figure of the Regional Secretary (Sekda) Marullah Matali.
According to Ismail, Marullah also has the opportunity to be the Governor until 2024.
“There are two possibilities, the person appointed by the Ministry of Home Affairs or the Regional Secretary will also be included in it to be appointed,” said Ismail at City Hall.
However, according to him, all decisions are in the hands of the Ministry of Home Affairs. Ismail added, most importantly, the official who will replace Anies fulfills all the requirements and criteria.
For the criteria, Ismail said, the official who will replace Anies must have experience in managing Jakarta. In addition, the official also has thoughts that are in line with the grand design of Jakarta’s development.
“So that in the remaining term of office of the Plt, it is more likely to continue what has been determined and avoid polemics and even political commotion,” he explained.
On the other hand, regarding the figure of Heru, Ismail considered that the former North Jakarta mayor did have a good track record.
“At least if you look at his track record (Heru), he also actually has experience, right before, if I’m not mistaken at BPKAD,” he said.
“With the mayor, it means that in terms of experience, he should be qualified, right, moreover there should be no obstacles, because he has also received the trust of the President, as evidenced by he was asked to help in ring 1 there,” he added.
Previously, the chairman of the PDIP faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Gembong Warsono, mentioned Heru’s name. Gembong hopes that the Acting Officer who will be appointed will be a figure who controls the problems in the Indonesian capital.
