Chief Executive of the DPP Gerindra Sufmi Dasco Ahmad said his party will discuss the issue of his cadres Desmond Junaidi Mahesa with PDIP in the aftermath of his statement on Sukarno.
Desmond was also beaten by a number of PDIP executives during lunch at a restaurant in the Purworejo area of Central Java.
“Yes, we will monitor and discuss it internally within the faction,” Dasco said at the Senayan Parliament Complex, Central Jakarta, on Friday (11/11).
Dasco admitted that he already knows the main problem that caused Desmond’s beating during the business visit. He confirmed that the Gerindra faction will hold an internal meeting to discuss the matter today.
“We already know more or less about the problem. Today we will have a meeting between the factions to discuss the things that the friends of the PDIP in Purworejo have been complaining about,” he said.
Earlier, House of Representatives Vice-President of Commission III Desmond Junaidi Mahesa apologized for his remarks that mocked the PDIP and Megawati Soekarnoputri regarding Indonesia’s first president Sukarno.
Desmond’s apology was aired after he was beaten by a number of PDIP executives and sympathizers during a working visit to Purworejo, Central Java on Thursday (10/11).
“I apologize for the disapproval of my statement, which is not quite my statement,” Desmond said in an accepted video. CNNIndonesia.com.
Initially, Desmond, who is also a member of Gerindra, said the PDIP request was far-fetched so that the state would apologize to President Sukarno following the 1967 MPRS TAP # 33.
“If Sukarno is rehabilitated, the name is made up,” Desmond said some time ago.
According to Desmond, the request arises because the current government is part of the Sukarno family. Because, he said, Jokowi is also an official of the party led by Mega as the daughter of the President of the Republic of Indonesia.
“If Jokowi is just a party official. Then, by carrying out Megawati’s wishes, the state will apologize to Sukarno again,” he added.
