Gerindra and PKB Dismiss Grand Coalition Scenario for Presidential Candidates

Gerindra compact with PKB who dismissed the scenario for the presidential and cawapres candidates from the Grand Coalition proposed by Nusron Wahid as Head of Bappilu President of the Golkar Party. PKB considered Nusron to be delirious about the proposed pair of candidates for the Grand Coalition, namely the presidential candidate from the Great Indonesia Awakening Coalition (KKIR) and the vice presidential candidate from the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB).

PKB considers Nusron Wahid delirious

Deputy Head of PKB Jazilul Fawaid said Nusron was dreaming and delirious. Jazilul suggested Nusron to solidify KIB with PAN and PPP which were recently hit by rumors of disbanding.

“This is Pak Nusron’s dream, which is getting delirious too. It’s better to just talk realistically, solidify KIB,” Jazilul told reporters, Saturday (27/5/2023).

Nusron himself predicts that the presidential and vice presidential candidates from the Grand Coalition will be Prabowo Subianto and Airlangga Hartarto. Jazilul also emphasized that there was no such thing as a Grand Coalition.

“The Great Coalition is also still a discourse that has not yet been realized in an official partnership. Moreover, there is an agenda regarding the presidential and vice presidential candidates,” he said.

He emphasized that Gerindra and PKB are still members of KKIR. According to him, the presidential and vice presidential candidates for KKIR are the affairs of the respective general chairmen, namely Prabowo Subianto and Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin).

“The KKIR presidential and vice presidential candidates depend on Pak Prabowo and Gus Imin, there are no other names,” he said.
