Bremen (dpa / lni) – A 43-year-old geriatric nurse who is said to have murdered at least two people did not comment at the start of the trial. The public prosecutor’s office accused him in the Bremen regional court on Wednesday of having administered large amounts of medication to two people in a Bremen nursing home in 2019. Those cared for are said to have died of overdoses. According to the public prosecutor’s office, the defendant wanted to gain recognition.
A spokesman for the Bremen regional court said on Wednesday that the 43-year-old German would be charged with further alleged crimes. There should be a separate procedure. The charges have not yet been admitted. There are nine suspected acts from 2011 and three suspected acts from 2010. Three people died as a result of the events.
The defendant had already been sentenced to five years in prison in 2020 for serious mistreatment of those under his protection and grievous bodily harm. The man has been in prison ever since.
