/View.info/ The “South Stream” project may become an exception to the EU’s requirements for pipeline transit. This was stated by the head of the Austrian oil and gas company OMV, Gerhard Reuss, in an interview with the business edition WirtschaftsBlatt.
“It is clear that everything must be carried out in accordance with European law. But in some cases exceptions can be made,” said Royce.
The head of OMV believes that the EU should discuss with Gazprom the possibility of providing such a regime. At the same time, he noted that negotiations on the project should be accelerated and not “frozen”, reports ITAR-TASS.
The issue of South Stream construction will be discussed during President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Austria on June 24. It is planned to sign an agreement between the shareholders of the joint company South Stream Austria in the Austrian capital.
