Shwill I kill you; blood; I’ll find you there and you’ll be mad; I will find you I swear to you; the case is dismissed; I’d love to crack your skull.
These are some of the threats that a mentally ill woman from Plovdiv has been sending to the talented singer Dara Ekimova for a year now
Stanislava Armutlieva reported them, clearly stating that the threats mentioned in her Facebook post were only from August 16.
Gergana Nedelcheva is mentally ill about 30 years old. The Plovdiv woman harasses the singer on Facebook and TikTok. It also refers to the publications of “Virginia Records” – the label that publishes Dara.
He does it from different profiles and not only threatens the daughter of the PR specialist Iva Ekimova and the late Dimi from “Slang”, but also the influencer Yasmin Kirilova, for example.
It also threatens complete strangers, by which she creates grounds for dispute. Since Nedelcheva is diagnosed with mental illness, the “Cybercrime” Directorate of the GDBOP can only identify her and seize her digital devices. And after emergency treatment under the Health Act – up to 3 months, he is released again.
Gergana has TELC with a diagnosis of schizophrenia – manic type. Her guardian is her mother. However, the very ban under which she is placed only means that Nedelcheva cannot dispose of property without the signature of her guardian. This does not stop her from having access to devices connected to the Internet, or from going out on the street freely. This is true not only for Nedelcheva, but also for all people with mental illness. The main problem with them is that when they go to treatment, they are fine. They start taking their pills and already on the second week they stop causing problems. But if they come out, the guardian often does not take action. He thinks his child is fine. At other times, out of trust, he does not buy the medicines. The law does not provide for criminal liability for the guardian if the person under care commits a crime.
However, the approach there is different. It goes with the Penal Code. For example, it was known that the granddaughter of the actress Violeta Doneva – Ivet Staykova, was treated for mental illnesses. When it came to light that she killed her grandmother in 2022, she was even taken into treatment. After it was over, the Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office requested that he be sent to a psychiatric clinic for 30 days. Research was done there. The goal is to determine whether the person who committed the crime can be held criminally responsible. Staykova was found to be sane and only had temporary personality disorders. That’s why they sent her to court, and in June this year she was even arrested by her other grandmother.
It is important here that the crime of homicide is under the jurisdiction of the district prosecutor’s office – for the Sofia city district, this is the Sofia city district. But cases of death threats are handled by the district attorney’s offices in the country. They can only request compulsory treatment for up to 3 months.
In other criminal cases, for example attempted murder, the order is different. For Nedelcheva, it was assessed that there is no risk for her carry out threats. That’s what the experts who studied her thought. That’s why no pre-trial proceedings were initiated, only files. That is why the alternative procedure was never reached. It is about an emergency situation in a psychiatric clinic, which is not done under the Health Act, but under the Criminal Code. As a procedure, a district attorney may contact a district attorney and request such an accommodation, send the materials and justify why such a procedure should be used. The chief prosecutor will then submit the request. According to him, there is no maximum period for which a person can be detained, an assessment is made every six months, which is the minimum.
The level of security of the hospital itself varies. For those who have committed more serious crimes, treatment is only prescribed in the psychiatric clinic attached to the prison in Lovech.
However, men are sent there, and women like Gergana lie in one of the 13 special clinics in the country.
Based on the evaluators’ findings, a person can be taken from relatives and treated at home. In theory, this can happen just 6 months after the birth. However, practice shows that on average it takes from 2 to 4 years. However, it is a mandatory condition that relatives agree to take care of their loved one. Therefore, even if Nedelcheva is treated in this way, it is possible that her mother will still give her access to digital devices. And when it connects to a new wireless internet, blocking ip addresses will not work and will attack the victims again.
However, there is also a problem with consent. Due to the refusal of the relatives, the psychiatric clinic in Novi Iskar, for example, has had a patient for more than 10 years. Another man has been in hospital for more than 25 years because experts don’t think he’s ready to go home.
By the way, Nedelcheva came to the attention of the media for the first time last year. Then Yasmin Kirilova filed a report about the threats, which began as early as 2022, and signed her place for emergency treatment.
In the name of God, in the name of Allah, I want your child to die, I want Arthur’s heart, the little heart you hear beating, to stop. And let this happen before your sweet eyes, Yasminche, this is one of the threat texts. Blocking did not help, perhaps Nedelcheva went to a computer club. In this way, it has avoided the restrictions imposed by the technology giants. She also stole pictures of Kirilova’s baby, even made videos that he was hers and that he had died.
Gergana’s victims are now hoping that she will be treated under the Criminal Code and a loophole will be found in the law to prevent her mother from becoming her guardian and remove her from the clinic.
And those who remember remember that there are many other cases of patients who write paper letters and call office landlines of famous beauty. They treat them, get out and start again. This is the case of Rosen Nikolov, whose guardian was his mother. He harassed the vice president. chief prosecutor Asya Petrova, Veneta Raykova and others. After his mother’s death, Rosen has no other relatives and is being treated in a psychiatric hospital.
Threats on the Internet, usually from ex-lovers, go by warning protocol
Usually, there are threats on the internet from mean ex-boyfriends. They can’t survive the breakup and start writing terrible things to their recent lovers.
The victims will then contact the GDBOP or the local police. It is easy to recognize because the girl says that this is the image of her ex-boyfriend. He also gives evidence from the conversations, while they were making love, that they passed kind messages. He gives his address and three names and the man identifies himself in a day. Then they call him to the police or GDBOP. Excuses continue, that these are just words, he missed her, he had no intention of carrying out the threat. Therefore, only a warning protocol is written, by which he is asked to stop communicating with the girl for the next year, for example. This is usually the time for abandoned men.
Many football fans also have such drama. They argue about their favorite teams, and one of them threatens the other with murder. The same procedure and warning protocol continues.
For a restraining order, it goes through the court. Once they are broken, the punishments are much more severe.
