The Foreign Ministry belongs to GERB, now Change wants to take it. This week we had two meetings of the executive bureau of the party. On Tuesday, Boyko Borisov told me that Kiril Petkov told him: “Niki must travel.” Then we decided that Maria Gabriel should not be the Minister of Foreign Affairs after the rotation, but someone else. Then it was said that this ministry is a red line and if they don’t get it, the government falls. Toppling a government so Nikki can travel is beyond me. This was stated by Delyan Dobrev from GERB in the program “Panorama” on BNT.
“Why do they want it? We think that we have much more prepared people for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Academician Denkov is a chemist. What is his preparation to become foreign minister. Do they have a criticism of Maria Gabriel, why do they want to replace her? We have only one ministry and they want to take it away from us. Because they don’t like the interior minister and want to write him to GERB”, continued the politician.
“In my opinion, this cabinet is not successful. According to GERB, this cabinet has certain successes. My personal opinion is that our Schengen entry is not successful, it is sham. 90% of the goods travel constantly”, Dobrev believes.
Kiril Petkov responded to Borisov’s ultimatum: We will not bend
“Since January 1, there is no Russian oil. Did the prices go up for this month and a half? Did the fuel run out, did 2,000 people from Neftohim lose their jobs? This shows that there were purely Russian interests,” he explained regarding concerns about the fall of the derogation for Russian oil.
“I haven’t changed my mind since day one. At GERD, dissent is tolerated. If it wasn’t like that, they wouldn’t let me show up at the studios,” emphasized Delyan Dobrev.
“My party thinks there is nothing better than this government at the moment,” he admitted.
“From GERB, we have never been afraid to go to elections,” the politician pointed out.
