GERB-SDS with clear commitments for the development of Burgas and the region. Dimitar Nikolov is their guarantor – 2024-10-01 16:22:06

“The future is in our hands, but only with joint efforts we can collect the pieces and put the puzzle together.” With this message, the GERB-SDS Coalition gave an official start in Burgas to its election campaign for the upcoming early parliamentary elections.

The candidates for people’s representatives presented the most important projects for the 13 municipalities in the Burgas region, for which they guarantee a personal commitment. The regional leader of GERB, Ivan Alexiev, was adamant that GERB does not make empty promises, it makes clear commitments that it will fulfill in the coming years in the Burgas region.

As the main guarantor for this, he named the mayor of Burgas, Dimitar Nikolov, who is also the leader of GERB.

“I have appeared in elections five times and I have spoken, spoken. Five times I have won the trust of my fellow citizens by a majority. For me, the interests of Burgas and the Burgas region stand above everything else. This is precisely why I stand by my name and have undertaken to lead the list of PP GERB in these parliamentary elections. In this way, I can guarantee the interests and the implementation of the projects on the territory of the Burgas region. Perhaps I am one of the few people in the field who is familiar with every single project in every settlement. For these things to happen, to solve the problems in our region, it takes extremely powerful lobbying, work and commitment. Apparently, people with authority and enthusiasm for work need to take this initiative. And they don’t tolerate delay” said Mayor Nikolov.

He gave the example of other cities in the European Union where local authorities work in sync with their national administrations and regular governments.

“I meet civil servants who literally change their names, telephone numbers and addresses every month. This makes it impossible to solve the problems in our region. This is precisely why large projects, important for our region, get stuck and stall. I can list them – the decision with the Blood Center in Burgas has been delayed, we have problems with the financing of the Children’s Hospital, with the bypass of Burgas, with the bypass of Aytos, with the bypass of Karnobat, with the port of Tsarevo, with Primorsko, the construction procedure has been delayed at the moot courts in Tsarevo and Pomorie. These are large projects, the realization of which depends on the fate of the way of life in our region. In recent years, the local government and the municipalities remained as an island of calm in this confused reality of ours” the mayor said.

He was categorical that the time has come for the mayors to put their questions clearly, raise their heads and fight to protect regional interests on a national scale.

“I’m not afraid of work and responsibility, and I’ve always faced problems myself and looked for ways to solve them. Yes, I have encountered difficulties along the way of these decisions. Yes, I haven’t been in the best shape at times. But I have always been guided by the interests of the city and our region. I love it and I am ready to give my energy and experience in the name of the development of the region. When times are difficult, every politician fights for his hometown. My roots are from Burgas. All my emotion is connected with the city. The borders between the municipalities in our region fell a long time ago. said the mayor of Burgas.

According to him, all problems are now solved globally. Whatever topic he points out, it is related not only to the city, but also to the entire region.

“The children’s hospital, which is now being built, will treat children not only from the city, but also from all over Southeast Bulgaria. With the improvement of the road infrastructure, the travel time has become extremely short, so mobility is very short. Dear colleagues and friends, I call on us to tell the truth, to make commitments that we can fulfill. Let’s not bother with the other parties. We have a well-structured pre-election program. The themes and solutions of our region are leading in it. Let’s try to win the trust of the residents of Burgas region. With ballot number 18 on October 27, I am confident that the result will be extremely good” Nikolov also said.

The second in the list of GERB-SDS Zhecho Stankov said that key projects for Burgas have been delayed, and the development of the country depends only on whether there will be a government.

“This whole team here does not stop being among the people, the streets, among the businesses, near the mayors, to hear the needs, to receive tasks from the people and to know in which direction we should work. I make a clear commitment to you for all the waiting over 2000 blocks that are on the reserve list and for all those that have already been approved – 756 blocks that are waiting. Remediation will continue, 100% free with funding and energy audits to be fair, to be fair. And let’s be clear – this is not a free lunch, the state saves all the funds from the energy that households save, and it will reinvest it through the Bulgarian Development Bank through the Bulgarian energy sector, which is 80% state-owned, because this is the right approach, this people want. This is the right way. Unfortunately, the position of Member of Parliament is no longer well spoken of. But we recognize ourselves as the people who work with honor and responsibility for every resident of the region. We make commitments we can deliver”shared Stankov.

The candidate for People’s Representative and deputy in the 50th National Assembly Galya Vasileva added that from GERB-SDS are the people who know the problems of every municipality and every small settlement in the district.

The coalition has concrete solutions for every single problem. They also have priorities for the region, for each municipality, and efforts will be made to implement them.

“At the national level, we guarantee that we will work to strengthen the link between the labor market and education. So that we can have better educated children who study in a more modern environment, tailored to our lives. We guarantee that we will create programs for young people: 60:40, as it was during Covid, so that we can stimulate them immediately after school or university to start work.
We guarantee that we will take care of the elderly, whom we thank for the experience they have given us. We guarantee that we will develop policies that are close to the people and that will help every resident of the country. We believe and are convinced that we are on our way to success and victory, because we are the guarantor of security and stability in the country” she said.

The main priorities of the GERB-SDS Coalition are better road connectivity in the municipalities, opening of new jobs, Malko Tarnovo border crossing, construction of the Southern Bypass of Burgas, opening of new faculties in higher education. For the maritime municipalities, the candidates committed to work to build fishing ports. Last but not least are the construction of the Black Sea highway, major repairs of Rishki Prohod and Dyulinski Prohod, as well as the construction of new industrial zones.

At the end of the campaign, the candidates for people’s representatives announced that the GERB-SDS Coalition organized a large-scale photo contest “My Favorite City”. It is open to all residents of the district. The purpose of the contest is to show the beauty and development of each city in the district in different perspectives and to give everyone the opportunity to express their personal vision of “My Favorite City”. Each participant must prepare up to three photographs that reflect their personal connection to the city.

The 30 best photos will be printed and displayed at an exhibition organized by us in the center of Burgas. There are prizes for the first three places. Anyone interested can send their photos to burgas@gerb.bg. The deadline is October 20.
