GERB-SDS Leader Endorses Asen Vasilev for Deputy Prime Minister and Discusses Plans for New Government Rotation

GERB-SDS would support Asen Vasilev for deputy prime minister if the PP offered him, said the leader of the SDS Rumen Hristov in a comment on how the new government will look like after the rotation.

“There is a rotation of the Prime Minister – Maria Gabriel and Nikolay Denkov are changing. PP-DB’s decision is whether Denkov will become Deputy Prime Minister. My opinion is that it is better to have political figures in the next cabinet to bear the responsibility directly Asen Vassilev could be deputy prime minister,” said Rumen Hristov.

According to him, the Minister of Regional Development and the Minister of Transport are doing their jobs well, and the Minister of the Interior, Kalin Stoyanov, has done a lot for Schengen.

“There are ministers who do not cope with their work, but it is not correct to mention names”, added the GERB-SDS MP on bTV.

Rumen Hristov also said that during the leadership meeting tomorrow morning, the candidates for the Constitutional Court will also be discussed. According to him, the agreement is that one will propose GERB-SDS and one – PP-DB. He specified that the agreements on the rotation, the members of the regulators and the Constitutional Court will first be discussed in a narrow circle, and then in a wider format.

We are discussing Desislava Atanasova, he confirmed the unofficial information that the lawyer from GERB, who is the chairman of the PG, can become a constitutional judge. At the same time, Hristov emphasized that she is doing very well as the leader of the parliamentary group. The deputy added that along with her name, the coalition is also commenting on the possible candidacies of Radomir Cholakov and Ekaterina Zaharieva.

He predicted that the cabinet would serve a full term.
